Job Description
Responsibilities: In addition to a commitment to the mission and philosophy of public library service, the Library Director must demonstrate excellent leadership skills, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and work effectively with library trustees, elected officials, staff and community groups.Additional Info & Requirements
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are an ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent with three years professional library experience, the ability to qualify for Indiana Library certification, and a demonstrated working knowledge of Indiana State Board of Accounts procedures and policies. Preferred experience includes a minimum of two years supervisory/management experience in a public library as a branch manager or department head, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to work successful with staff and community stakeholders. Success reporting to a policy making board is also highly desirable.HR Info
