Job Description

What You'd Do:

Oversee the daily operations of the Community Technology Center(CTC) in the Denver Central Library. Plan, coordinate and evaluate services and programs for customers and analyze usage and trends. Facilitate the use of existing and emerging technologies to provide new opportunities and experiences for library customers of all backgrounds and abilities. Select, train, and motivate CTC staff. Supervise CTC staff, including setting job standards and objectives, appraising performance, creating and maintaining work schedules, and leading team. Participate in development of the department budget and strategic goals and lead CTC staff in achieving objectives.Work with various teams to design and implement department-specific and system-wide services in support of Library strategic initiatives. Work closely with other Central departments and branch libraries, as well as outside community organizations, to build relationships that support and expand library services and programs.

A Bachelor's degree.

Three years experience working in a library, community center, computer lab, or makerspace.

Two years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.

One year experience providing technology assistance and training.

The Community

The Community Technology Center (CTC) is the technology access and training hub for Denver Public Library(DPL). The CTC is located on the 4th floor of the Central Library and currently consists of a two technology classrooms, a one-on-one consultation room, a video conferencing room, a large public access computing area with 120 computers and ideaLAB--a digital media lab and makerspace. We will be opening a new digital conversion lab and recording studio by the end of this year. The CTC offers a wide variety of group and individual training opportunities on topics ranging from using a mouse to 3D printing and web development. In addition to offering a variety of technology classes and programs at the Central Library, CTC staff also offer tech training and programs at other DPL branches and local community organizations.
