Location:Technology CenterCentral Library, 14th & Broadway Status/Schedule: Regular, full-time, 40 hours per week. The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and will include evening and weekend hours. Salary Range: $21.84 - $27.27 per hour starting salary range; $21.84 - $34.83 per hour full salary range. The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered. Duties and Responsibilities: Works closely with the Manager, Technology Center Team, Information Technology Team, other Library staff, docents, and volunteers to develop the enhanced Technology Center. Supervises staff, plans new services and programs and analyzes usage and trends. Oversees customer training and experiences related to computer use at the Central Library. Embraces the challenge of meeting the various and changing needs of customers from the basic to the cutting edge. Brings a customer-centered focus to the development of a coordinated computing and training program for the Technology Center. Coordinates customer training programs and schedules. Provides one on one and group training to customers on the use of denverlibrary.org, subscription databases, other online resources, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Provides services to customers ranging from teens to adults, with both research and recreational needs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the Web, technology, online trends, and popular culture. Skill in articulating DPL’s online and technology vision to staff and customers in both written word and public speaking. Skill in leading teams. Skill in training a wide variety of learners. Skill in coordinating projects. Ability to create and maintain positive staff relationships, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be sensitive to the needs of a diverse customer group. Ability to have a sense of humor in working with customers and coworkers; creatively problem-solve, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner; multi-task and prioritize; demonstrate innovation and flexibility; and select, train, motivate and supervise staff. Ability to embrace the challenge of learning new tools, software and technology. Fluency in Spanish is desirable. Education: A Master’s in Library Science from an ALA accredited program.
