Job Description

Winterset Public Library is seeking an energetic, creative, & customer service-oriented individual to join our team.  We are looking for someone savvy with social media, experienced with technology, and excited about providing programs & events for our community.  At Winterset Public Library, you will be on a team that works together to tackle every part of the library operation – from programming to displays to collection development to community outreach to checking materials in & out.

The position is full-time with excellent benefits.  Customer service experience is required; bachelor’s degree with library experience is preferred.

Interested in working in a small, rural library with quick accessibility to the amenities of a larger city?  Winterset, Iowa, may be a good fit for you!  Winterset (population 5,200) is located 30 minutes southwest of Des Moines in scenic Madison County (*the* Madison County of Robert James Waller's "The Bridges of Madison County").  In addition to the covered bridges, our quaint community offers a lot of charm with the birthplace home and museum dedicated to John Wayne as well as a historic town square.  The library is well-supported and partners with many organizations and agencies to provide award-winning programs and services.
