Job Description
The Adult Services Assistant provides program support and assistance to the Adult Programming and Collections Librarian. The person in this role assists patrons by responding to a wide variety of questions and requests, builds partnerships in the community, and provides outreach services for the library district.
Outreach. Responsible for Lobby Stops at adult residential centers in the community. This job function includes performing reader’s advisory services and providing offsite circulation functions. Further, responds to the needs and interests of seniors in the community.
Programming. Assist in the planning, conducting, and evaluation of library programs for adults of all ages. This position will also serve as the emcee for our popular adult pub trivia program at various offsite locations.
Marketing. This position will be responsible for supporting marketing efforts for programming and outreach services. This includes serving as backup for compiling and distributing marketing materials for adult programs and services across multiple platforms.
Customer Service. Offer patron assistance on the use of computers, computer programs, databases, printing, scanning, electronic devices, and photocopier. Provide suggestions to readers and assist patrons on the use of the library catalog. Place unavailable library items on hold and/or request interlibrary loan for customers and staff.
