Job Description
The Director is responsible for all phases of library operations, oversees a staff of two full-time and 6 part-time employees to provide library services, and works with the nine-member Library Board to develop policies and the annual budget.
The successful candidate will have the experience and skill to plan and implement new services; excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of an enthusiastic staff, volunteers and Friends of the Library, and community organizations; technology skills; fundraising and financial expertise; and enthusiasm for the role of our public library as a community hub and center of learning.
Benefits & Additional Compensation Info
Starting salary: $58,843, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
This position is full-time, salaried position and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Additional Info & Requirements
Required qualifications: Masters of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution, and five years of library administration experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
The Community
The Rockingham Free Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a director to lead our municipal library, which serves approximately 5,200 Rockingham residents and has broad community support. It is a beautiful Carnegie library that was built in 1909, renovated in 2013, and is located in the historic village of Bellows Falls, overlooking the scenic Connecticut River in southeastern Vermont.
