Job Description

Works with other members of the Acquisitions Team on the ordering and receipt of library and instructional materials. Works with book vendors to improve the features and functions of vendor-provided electronic ordering and electronic invoicing tools and processes, and to communicate expectations regarding the timely shipment and receipt of ordered materials. Helps organize and participates in meetings with book vendors to plan programs and resolve issues. Enters budget, order and invoice information into the library automation system using batch and interactive methods. Monitors school library spending and communicates with Accounts Payable, Budget, school librarian and school financial clerk to resolve problems. Creates statistical reports as needed. Must have strong computer skills especially in MS Word and Excel; must be able to learn new software; must be able to multi-task and think creatively as the job entails problem solving on a daily basis; must have analytical ability and attention to detail; must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift 50 pounds.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MARC record editing tools such as MARC Edit and bibliographic utilities such as OCLC Connexion. Familiarity with library automation systems, preferably Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Previous work experience with financial information, budgets and financial reporting. Previous work experience in a library. Performs other duties assigned by the Senior Library Systems Analyst. Reports to the Senior Library System Analyst.
