The Emerging Technologies Librarian is a full-time position. The person holding this position, based at our newly constructed (2019) East Forest Park Branch Library, will be responsible for providing reference and information services to the public, as well as responsible for Makerspace tools and services and training in their use. They will promote awareness of new and emerging technologies to improve the patron experience, library services, and programming. Work is performed in accordance with accepted practices and procedures in the field of library sciences related to reference and resource material with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent professional judgment under the general direction of the Manager who reviews work through observation, reports, and conferences. Ability to demonstrate vision, strategic thinking, collaboration and inclusive leadership skills, flexibility and adaptability and a willingness to embrace and drive change. Ability to work nights and weekends. Bilingual abilities desirable (English and Spanish, Arabic, Somali, Russian, Vietnamese, or ASL). MLS from an ALA-accredited institution required.
