The Community
The Southwest La Plata Library District is located in La Plata County, Colorado. Its two libraries serve several rural communities near Durango, CO. Durango is a small community located near the mountains of Southwest Colorado. In addition to skiing, hiking, biking, rafting, and camping, there is a robust arts scene. Ft. Lewis College, a liberal arts college with 3300 students, is located on the mesa overlooking Durango.
