Specialty Checkout Clerk
Role:
Processes Specialty Checkout (SCO) items for courier to libraries for patron use.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
35% - CHECKS-OUT ITEM - Prepares SCO materials for checkout to patrons, verifies patron information in Sierra to ensure patron is eligible for SCO use and contacts patrons if ineligible for checkout; prints courier slips and routes item to the correct location. (Essential)
35% - CHECKS-IN ITEM – Checks in all SCO materials; processes overdue SCO items to prevent stuck-in transit status; contacts patron and library locations when reservations are missing location information and inputs survey information; cleans all equipment returned; verifies all equipment is returned and is in working condition; works with resource owners to repair and replace items and pulls items out of circulation if needed. (Essential)
25% - REPORTING – Runs reports from LibEquip with reservation statistics and updates Excel spreadsheet. (Essential)
5% - OTHER DUTIES – Performs other duties as assigned to assist Supervisor with projects and tasks in order to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (Non-Essential)
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or GED
Experience:
Skill in arranging materials in numerical and alphabetical order
Skill in basic computer operation
Or any combination of education and experience which provides the success factors.
