Job Description
The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking a full time energetic Outreach Services Assistant to highlight our unique resources and bring them to the community.
We value candidates who have a positive and outgoing attitude. You must be able to interact with patrons offsite at various types of locations; have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a variety of outreach vehicles, including a 30 foot bookmobile; possess strong communication and organizational skills; and are comfortable with people of all ages and from all backgrounds. An ideal candidate will be able to work with large and small groups; possess Spanish-language abilities (nearly a third of our population are native Spanish speakers); be able to work evenings and weekends; and have the ability to perform more physically intensive duties, which can include lifting and pushing heavy materials, bending and kneeling, and being mobile for much of the day. A high school diploma is required. A general understanding of working with the public and public library settings is preferred. The starting rate for an Outreach Services Assistant is $28,300 annually with additional increases for specific library-related degrees, experience, or proficiency in Spanish.
