Job Description
Working under the direction of the Library Director and in partnership with the Local History & Cataloging Coordinator, the Local History & Cataloging Assistant provides patrons with research and reference assistance with the Colorado Mountain History Collection, contributes to collection management of physical and digital collections, and performs cataloging duties as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Job Duties: Local History
- Research and reference assistance with CMHC
- Scans documents for digital collection
- Enters metadata for digital files in digital collection
- Provide reference services: researching patron local history/genealogy requests; assist patrons in person as needed.
Cataloging & Processing
- Copy cataloging of new materials
- Deaccessions withdrawn material
- Cataloging the receipt of magazines and newspapers daily.

Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and additional education preferred. Willingness and ability to be active during programming and events as well as deliver programming in an outdoor setting.
● Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with staff and supervisors
● Work independently with minimal supervision
● Understand and follow directions
● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers and the general public
● The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; a competence in technology; be creative, positive and promote excellent customer service
