Job Description
This is a para-professional position, supporting the librarians at the US EPA NEIC Library.
Responsibilities:
Basic reference, user services, copy cataloging, serials and collections management, bindery, materials reproduction and processing.
Special projects include managing the internal reports collection and performing the monograph inventory.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
Two years of library experience preferred; one year required.
Required:
Strong service orientation.
knowledge of and experience with performing library functions, including reference services and database searching;
Microsoft Office experience with spreadsheets and word processing.
Preferred:
Experience doing OCLC copy cataloging and using a serials management program.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This is primarily an office position, including data entry and online database searching.
Physical demands include lifting packed boxes and books to shelve, pushing loaded book carts, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, and climbing stairs.
Maximum lifted is 30 pounds.
