Lawrence Public Library is seeking a customer service expert who can patiently assist people with all aspects of technology. Join our Public Technology Services department and continue helping us provide excellent customer service and free technology to a community we love!
As a Part Time Public Technology Assistant, you will help patrons:
- using the public computers, printers, and copiers and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
- navigating the internet, especially when they need help with email, job application forms, and social media sites.
- by providing limited assistance in the Sound+Vision studio (opening new recording sessions, assisting in saving files, basic troubleshooting) once normal studio services resume.
- attempting to access library resources such as ebooks and downloadable audiobooks.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Patience and compassion
- Experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting Windows and Mac OS computers
- Experience with audio visual equipment in a studio setting
- Experience with audio software like Apple Logic/Garageband, Presonus Studio One, or Pro Tools
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere

This is a part-time 20 hour-per-week position and the set schedule will include, but is not limited to, weekly night and weekend shifts. Salary range starts at $15.03. To apply, please submit an application and attach a resume and cover letter by Wednesday, November 17.
Benefits & Additional Compensation Info
You do accrue vacation and sick leave each month and holiday comp time for the 3 comp days on the calendar. You are also required to join KPERS and are eligible for the Optional Group Life through KPERS and the KPERS 457 Savings plan. This position does not include health insurance benefits.
