Job Description

Summary: Provides customer service in support of Natrona County Library: including tech support for Creation Station equipment, One Button Recording Studio, AV equipment; help patrons with mobile devices, computer use, and eReaders; troubleshooting computers (hardware & software); reference help, readers’ advisory, programming and teaching a variety of classes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

·           Provides dynamic customer experiences.

·           Operates and maintains makerspace equipment (3D printers, laser engraver, and other equipment); One Button Studio; Meeting Room A/V equipment.

·           Provides technology instruction to patrons and staff, including e-reader and tablet use, and the use of electronic resources, including databases, eBooks, e-audiobooks, downloadable magazines, and streaming media, one-on-one and in a group setting.

·           Assists patrons with the use of makerspace equipment.

·           Develops Maker- and STEAM-related programming for Adult Services.

·           Helps with the development of Maker- and STEAM-related programming for patrons of all ages.

·           Develops and implements new and emerging technology, services, and projects for the makerspace.

·           Computer troubleshooting (hardware & software).

·           Demonstrates technology outside of the library at community events

·           Develops a training plan for staff on relevant equipment; informs staff of updates or changes to equipment or procedures.

·           Responds to inquiries and assists patrons in locating books and other library items.

·           Conducts research and provides readers’ advisory services to individuals.

·           Responds to patron reference inquiries received in person, through the mail, telephone, and email.

·           Provide guidance and patron assistance on Library's electronic resources including online databases, downloadable media, Public Access Catalog (PAC).

·           Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Additional Info & Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and one year technology support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
