Job Description

If variety is the spice of life, this position rates somewhere around ghost pepper on the Scoville scale (855,000 – 1,463,000 Scoville Heat Units).

In a single day the AspenCat Support Associate might work with a school in Julesburg, a public library in Ouray, a community college in Lamar, or Department of Corrections library in Buena Vista.  Helping those libraries might include testing a problem with their circulation, changing the wording on an overdue notice, creating a report to provide meaningful data, customizing the patron catalog, or about 1,000 other things. Because CLiC’s mission is to serve Colorado libraries, residence in the state of Colorado and weekend availability are required for this remote position.

Enjoying puzzle solving is key, but so is providing friendly and helpful customer service.  It is hard to get bored on the job when there is always a new challenge.  The position still requires someone that can work on a high focus, intensively detailed task.

Another perk to the job is getting to work with an endless cornucopia of talented, enthusiastic, and friendly people in Colorado.  Whether it be the rest of the AspenCat team, the larger CLiC staff, and especially all the hard-working staff running libraries all over Colorado, there is not a better group of professionals to surround yourself with.

Our organization provides a humane and supportive work environment, rich in experiential opportunities for people who are eager to learn, and who want to do work that matters to the world.  If all that Scoville heat sounds intriguing, we may be a good fit for you.

HR Info

Apply by sending your material to HR Manager Andrea Pettegrew via email: apettegrew@clicweb.org. Professional references are not required for initial-stage applicants, but will be required of finalists for the position. Should you have any procedural questions, please address those to the HR Manager via email or call 303-422-1150. Application DEADLINE is 10:12 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Please submit a non-form cover letter and a professional resume. If your letter begins with “Dear Hiring Manager,” then you’re already off to a bad start.  Please include within your letter an answer to this prompt: "How have you made an impact on your community whatever size that community might be?"  Also, tell us about yourself as it relates to this job opportunity. Not all of the places you’ve worked (hello, that’s in your resume…), and not the trite “I’m a hard-working, dependable, enthusiastic, and experienced person who will make a positive contribution to your organization.” If you’re indeed such a person, believe us, we’ll ferret that out.

CLiC is an equal-opportunity employer, committed to assembling a diverse staff. Minorities, women, LGBTQIA+, veterans and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
