First Year Engagement Librarian
Department: Library-General
Summary Description:
Leads, develops, and assesses library programs supporting teaching and learning; serves as the library liaison to assigned departments, developing strategies to actively engage with students and scholars during all phases of the research process.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library and/or information science from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent; ability to work collaboratively and independently; demonstrated commitment to inclusion and working toward antiracism; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds; interest in serving the needs of a residential liberal arts campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of emerging information technologies and trends in scholarly communication; academic library experience; teaching experience including knowledge of information literacy principles and practices (i.e., ACRL Framework for Information Literacy), including assessment; experience providing reference or research services in an academic or research library; knowledge of course management systems; interest in serving the needs of a small, residential undergraduate liberal arts campus.
