Job Description
Provide reference assistance to customers in the computer area, and provide administrative and/or technical tasks in support of Library functions including cataloging, acquisitions, inspections of incoming materials, circulation, or computer and software maintenance. Our computer lab is moving to a new, larger space in the building so you'll be in on the ground floor of making decisions on how the lab will be set up and utilized. The Library is open 7 days/week, so some evening and weekend hours will be required.

Additional Info & Requirements
Associate's degree preferred. May accept candidates without a degree who have considerable library and/or technical experience. A cover letter detailing your interest in this particular position is highly encouraged. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is desirable but not required.
The Community
Assist library staff in scheduling, maintaining and monitoring computer lab. Ensure that library staff are aware of schedules and required duties. Assist in creating and managing computer related classes. Assist library patrons and converse with patrons by telephone, electronic media (e.g. email, chat, text or instant messaging) or in person. Locate information using electronic databases and resources, print library materials, the Internet, or other tools. Instruct/assist patrons in the use of library resources both printed and computer based. Assist patrons with their devices and technology including tablets, smart phones, laptops and personal computers for the purposes of accessing electronic library materials. Provide basic software/hardware instruction and support to users with a wide variety of computer skill levels.
