Job Description
Interested in working with youth and creating a more equitable and inclusive Library? Come work with a fun and diverse youth services team! You will assists our varied and diverse patrons at public desks in the Children’s and Teens’ department; interviews patrons by telephone or electronic media (e.g. email, chat, text) or in person responding to service requests. Locate information in assigned area utilizing various web-based tools. Recommend resources for children, teens, parents, and adults for the purposes of education, information, or recreational reading/entertainment. Accompany patrons to the appropriate resources and instruct / assist patrons in the use of library resources. Assist patrons of all ages with their devices and technology including tablets, smart phones, laptops and personal computers. Help to create attractive and diverse book displays and help create a welcoming and inclusive space for children and their grown-ups. Assist with library programs for birth-17 year olds with an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens. Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City Attributes.

Additional Info & Requirements
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years of experience working in a public library setting or with youth generally. Special Qualifications: Spanish language skills strongly preferred, as is experience working and serving diverse populations. Performance at this level requires advanced customer service skills and knowledge of library operations.
