JOB OPENING: Head Librarian III – Spicer, New London, Raymond, Lake Lillian, Atwater (MN) Public Libraries
Pioneerland Library System, a consolidated regional library system located in west central Minnesota, seeks a Head Librarian with successful public library experience to direct and coordinate the activities of five smaller (5) rural libraries. Responsibilities include staff supervision, budgeting, collection development, programming oversight, and other activities related to the operation and management of a library.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Experience with supervising and coordinating the work of library personnel in multiple locations.
· Fundamental knowledge of and experience with library science systems, principles, and procedures.
· Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their application to library services.
· Demonstrated example of leadership and decision making skills/abilities.
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in library science, or a related field, and a minimum of two years work experience including management/supervisory experience in a public library or branch library; or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential duties of the job.
Master's degree in Library Science is preferred.
Position Open Until Filled
HOURS: 40 hours per week. Appointment range: $51,000 - $58,000 per year DOQ. Competitive benefit package includes Minnesota Retirement (PERA).
