Job Description

Join a fun and dynamic youth services team at Longmont Public Library as a part-time Library Technician!  You will provide reference and customer service assistance to customers in the Children’s and Teens' department, and provide assistance with programs for both children and teenagers. You will be a youth services desk substitute and also have several regular desk shifts throughout the week. Additional hours will be offered to help with special programs and events designed for birth-17 and some outreach.  You will also help create attractive and diverse book displays and foster a safe space for children and their grown-ups. Experience working and serving diverse populations and the Spanish-speaking population is strongly desired as is working with youth in a public library setting.

Additional Info & Requirements

Must be available to work nights and weekends. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years of experience working in a public library setting or with youth generally. Special Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred. Performance at this level requires advanced customer service skills and knowledge of library operations.
