Job Description
The Librarian position performs a variety of basic Library tasks, including circulation services; processing Library materials; shelving and organizing the collection; greeting and assisting patrons; answering the telephone; filing; and preparing the facility for program use. This position also oversees the Library circulation and catalog systems and is responsible for Library purchasing and the creation, use, and management of machine-readable bibliographic records (MARC), according to nationally accepted technical standards and to the guidelines in the AspenCat Union Catalog.

Required Education/Training:
Master’s Degree in Library Science or professional certificate required. Significant experience and on the job training as a Librarian may be substituted for formal education.
Required Qualifications:
At least one year of experience as a Librarian, preferably at a Public Library. Requirement may be adjusted for local factors. Must have excellent customer service skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot mobile devices, such as smart phones, tablets, laptops, and Kindles. Knowledge of KOHA and/or other library management systems and the ability to manage the development, organization, and circulation of library materials.

Dolores Public Schools has a great K thru 12 school system, active athletics and high performing students. They have an active booster club, and help out with many events and activities throughout the year.
