Job Description
The successful candidate will be customer service oriented, enjoy working in a team environment and have a high energy level. Work involves using a computer, assisting patrons with questions and problems, checking items in and out, sorting and shelving books, answering phones, filing, and determining status of overdue materials. Lakewood Library, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007 with a complete building remodel, serves an area with 145,000 residents in the northern half of Lakewood, Jefferson County’s largest city. The service area’s population is diverse with a growing number of Spanish speakers. Families have a choice of excellent public and private schools. Nearby Lakewood High School offers an International Baccalaureate program. Lakewood Library is in a residential neighborhood just a few blocks from busy commercial areas. The library has about 189,000 items on its shelves, access to extensive law and government documents collections, and numerous free programs for all ages, including story times for children.
