The Lyons Community Library seeks a creative and collaboratively natured individual to serve as a part-time Technology Coordinator. Do you have a strong familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace? Are you handy when it comes to basic troubleshooting of computers, printers, and audiovisual technology? The position also entails helping patrons with technology issues and teaching basic computer classes. As the Lyons Community Library is warm and small, duties will include provision of legendary customer service to all ages at all service points. Position could include evening and occasional Saturday hours.
Under the general direction of the Director, you will perform essential duties with the library computers and computer-based functions. This position is responsible for the development, design, installation, maintenance, and coordination of technology for the library, and for strategic planning which anticipates the technology needs of library patrons and staff. You will also coordinate appropriate in-person and online training to both staff and patrons. Additionally, you will provide support and assistance of a general library nature (circulation functions, readers’ advisory, etc.) at all service points.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs and routine maintenance of all library hardware and software and makes recommendations on upgrades, repairs, replacements, retention, and adoption of new technologies based on equipment life cycles, user needs, and industry trends.
- Maintain and update the library website, staff portal, and staff email service.
- Plan, lead, and evaluate computer, technology, and Internet workshops and programs and provide one-on-one technology assistance for patrons.
- Develop and periodically evaluate staff technology competencies for all levels. Train and instruct staff members on the use of all library technology, prepare pertinent technology usage guides for staff reference.
- Assist Director in planning annual technology expenses and developing the budget.
- Position must comply with laws governing patron privacy and confidentiality under CRS § 24-90-119, the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, as well as ADA governing public access to space and technology.

This position enjoys separate sick and PTO banks as well as 11 prorated holidays per year.

Education and Experience:
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant job experience may be substituted.
- 2 years customer service experience; library experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree with emphasis in technology/computer related fields.
Certificates and Licenses:
- CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA Network+

- Work primarily in a library environment and rarely community settings.
