Job Description

 

The Teen Librarian is responsible for directing the activities of the library’s new Teen Center.  The Teen Librarian works under the supervision of the Coordinator of Adult Services.  The duties include planning and holding programs, the development and maintenance of the teen collection, providing reference and readers advisory services, organizing summer reading activities, attending meetings and workshops, writing grants, working with other organizations that provide services to teens, and reporting on activities.

Performs other duties in the Adult Services Department.

Additional Info & Requirements

MLS or MLIS degree from ALA accredited institution is required along with course work in area of specialization.  Employee must also have knowledge of current technological application for information access and ability to utilize these resources with a high degree of accuracy and proficiency.  

Full-time position (35 hours per week), including 2 nights and alternative Saturdays
