Job Description

Barrington Public Library seeks to fill a part-time position at the Circulation Desk.

Schedule:
a combination of daytime and evening hours averaging around 17 per week (15 per week during July and August) - these hours are available for one person, or can be split between 2 individuals (roughly 8.5 hours each, or 7.5 hours each in July and August)
*Some additional hours may be available for fill-in coverage when other staff are sick or on vacation
*Eligible for sign-up for Sunday afternoon shifts (12 noon-4:00 pm) between September and mid-May at time and a half (approx. $25 per hour)

Tasks include (but are not necessarily limited to):
-Checkout and check-in of library materials
-Registering patrons for library cards
-Entry of periodicals into Sierra database
-Sorting mail
-Pulling on-reserve items from shelves

Looking for people with:
-Good customer service skills (both in-person and over the telephone)
-An affinity for attention to details
-Ability to work as a member of a team

Circulation desk experience preferred.
