Job Description Summary

The Digital Archives Assistant will contribute to the processing and description of the digital collections within the University Archives and Special Collections and the institutional repository. This position, in consultation with the Digital Initiatives & Archives Librarian, will process and reformat digital objects, research the historical context of collections, organize and upload digital files, produce metadata, and contribute to digital preservation efforts

The Community

Essential:

Assist with the overall inventory and organization of all digital archives and special collections using the digital asset management system. Assist with the overall inventory and organization of scholarly communications using the institutional repository.

Conduct digital archival processing: format and upload digital files, metadata creation, digital preservation and processing collections in multiple formats.

Participate in the direction of student employees.

Assists with research and reference requests related to digital archives.

Other:

Performs other duties as assigned which may include but is not limited to engaging in library committee work and/or duties in support of the Regis mission.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Preferred Experience:  

Experience in a library, special collections, or archival setting.

Some supervisory experience

Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited institution of higher education

Ability to communicate collegially and to contribute constructively within a team setting.

Strong attention to detail.

Must be exceptionally service oriented.

Strong verbal and written skills.

Minimum of one year of experience in a related environment.
