The Lavenia McCoy Public Library, Bayfield, Colorado, is searching for an Assistant Director responsible for daily operations including collection development and some administrative duties. MLS preferred. Position details: 40 hours per week Evenings /Weekends : Some evenings and weekends required. Screening will begin January 31, open until filled. Preferred Education: Master’s in Library Science Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: Library Experience: 3 years required; 5 years preferred Professional Experience: 3 years preferred Supervisory Experience: 2 years preferred Salary: $35,000 to $49,000 Benefits: Medical, Vacation, paid Holidays, extensive continuing education & tuition benefits. Job Description/Duties: Working with the library director and staff, the assistant director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library, including collection management, technology upgrades, management of the automated circulation system, scheduling, information services, and other administrative duties. Candidates should be knowledgeable in contemporary library technology and possess management, communication, organizational, decision-making and public relations skills.
