Library Technician II (Public Service)
Duties and Responsibilities- Welcomes patrons, checks in/out material, collects overdue fines, shelves and retrieves books, answers phone, handles the routing of library materials to and from other libraries, issues library cards and assists patrons.
Basic computer skills including searching and use of the computer catalog. The ability to communicate effectively with the public and colleagues. Must be team-oriented, able to multi-task, be flexible and motivated. Previous employment in the public services department of a public library a plus.
35 hour a week position, includes some evenings and every other weekend. May require lifting, walking and standing for extended periods of time. Includes benefits, $16.88 an hour, after 180 day probationary period $18.34. Must participate in union.
