Job Description
For those who have experience shining a light on dusty and neglected corners of museums, archives, and library special collections! Westminster Public Library is in the early stages of developing a local history archive and seeking an archive librarian to help us build and preserve a new collection with enduring historical value to serve the Westminster community for generations to come. Current collections encompass materials of historical value to the Parks, Recreation, and Libraries department.
The ideal candidate has a passion for professional archival work and dedication to ensuring physical and digital access for community members and curious researchers. Job responsibilities include creating safe preservation space for existing collections, organization and accession/deaccession of materials, reference and research at a public service point, and programming and engagement with the community. This position falls within the Collection Management team, based at the College Hill Library, and will work collaboratively as needed.
This is a temporary position, currently funded for up to 12 months, although funds may be extended based on demonstrated successes.

Applicants with Master’s Degree in library science, archive, museum, history, or similar OR three or more years of professional archival experience OR some combination of the two will be equally considered
