Job Description

The Assistant/Associate Librarian provides general and in-depth legal reference and instruction service, while working as a member of the law library team. Delivers active and responsive service to law faculty, law students, the university community, members of the local bar, and the public at large. Assistance to law faculty will include liaison services, interlibrary loan, in-depth research, citation checking, and in-class instruction, when needed. Shares responsibility for provision of circulation services, including supervision and training of student staff. Interacts and cooperates in administrative functions supportive of law school activities, including the law review, career services, admissions, and the LEC. The Assistant/Associate Librarian will have primary responsibility for administrative supervision of one of the major legal research databases, (Lexis, or Westlaw). Follows the University’s best practices to build and/or support student academic success and retention, and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of all the student population.
