Job Description

The Special & Digital Collections Archivist Librarian is responsible for increasing and maintaining discovery of the library's special collections to support the learning, teaching, and research of Auraria campus users. This person will create finding aids using appropriate metadata schema and the library's digital asset management system (currently Ubiquity). The person in this position reports to and works closely with the Special & Digital Collections Program Lead Librarian. With the Program Lead they will routinely assess the entire archival collection for future and ongoing needs, potential accessions, and current requirements for deaccession. This is an exciting time to join Special & Digital Collections as the unit is in the process of focusing its vision for the collections to highlight the theme of displacement in the following areas: the history of Auraria Campus and the neighborhood preceding it; the Latinx Experience; the Asian-American Experience; and Civic Reform and Activism. The person in this position would assist in growing our Displaced Aurarian Collection and would oversee the Amache Relocation Camp Collections, among others. The Special & Digital Collections unit at Auraria Library is housed within the Collection Management & Discovery Division.
