Job Description

The Training Supervisor is responsible for oversight of organizational management and employee development for a system or department. Develops and maintains the training and development master plan. Work requires managing and monitoring work performance including evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness and developing and implementing training goals and objectives. Supervises training team.

  • Oversee and directs the continuous evaluation of training and development programs and activates.  Utilizes data to inform planning for future training, development, and improvements. Oversees needs assessment and examine training processes and systems. Recommend and implement improvements.
  • Deliver training courses utilizing best practice methods.  Facilitate classroom exercises and activities.  Encourage participant engagement and interaction using various training techniques.  Deliver lectures and presentations.
  • Partners with managers and leaders on identifying and delivering employee training and development needs and opportunities.
  • Deliver training, presentations, and lectures both internally and externally to employees, managers, leaders and community stakeholders.
  • Develop and facilitate teambuilding activities and retreats using a variety of best practice models.
  • Supervises staff in area of responsibility. Administers and makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, granting leave, appraisals, and taking corrective action. Conducts performance evaluations and communicates short- and long-term goals and objectives. Submits personnel records and reports as required by the county. Assists and advises subordinates as necessary, resolves problems as non-routine situations arise, and ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards. Communicates changes in policy and procedures to direct reports and implements them as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The job is hybrid--a mixture of onsite and remote work.

Preferred - Three years' experience in designing, developing and implementing training, organization development, and performance improvement programs.
