Job Description

Otis Library in Norwich, CT has an opening for a Head of Technical Services.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the work of Technical Services staff; managing acquisitions of materials in all formats; cataloging and classifying library materials in accordance with library policy and guidelines set forth by the LION Consortium; maintaining an accurate, up-to-date database of library holdings; physically processing items being added to and withdrawn from the collection; reconciling orders, monitoring individual budgets; and preparing reports. Keen attention to detail is required.  Strong interpersonal skills are essential.  Additional responsibilities such as participating in the Collection Development Committee, attending LION meetings, performing special projects, and assisting in other departments may be required.  Experience with Sierra ILS is required. Experience with Excel and Google Sheets is desirable.  Bilingual abilities are desirable but not required.
