Job description:

At Anythink, we believe that everyone is creative and that creativity comes in many forms. We are guided by the philosophy that customers of all ages thrive when they discover and follow their passions, collaborate with others, and become creators. As a studio specialist, you help facilitate these opportunities and support individuals in their creative pursuits. You create transformational experiences centered around production that put interest-driven, informal learning into action. And you have a great time doing it.

Ready to join in a bold opportunity to help us take community library services to an entirely new dynamic realm?

Who you are:

  • You are a natural mentor, connecting people with ideas and tools to pursue their passions.
  • You are a creator at heart: You have an artistic vision and love experimenting with different tools to bring ideas to life.
  • You were born with a sense of curiosity and adventure.
  • You engage well with others and are passionate about providing an exemplary experience to customers of all ages.
  • You are eager to try new ideas based on customer interests.
  • You are a team player who thinks quickly on your feet.
  • You are an active listener with lots of patience.
  • You are a born leader; people look to you for guidance.
  • You are an innovator; you can understand how to create experiences that are timely, sometimes futuristic, attractive, and highly viable to customers based on market trends within the creative technology industry.
  • You inspire fun in the people around you.

Your vision:

  • You develop, promote, and deliver engaging Studio Sessions on a variety of skills and topics, including but not limited to STEAM, digital media, the maker movement and artistic endeavors.
  • You work with our Artists in Residence to create a supportive environment for informal learning and intergenerational collaboration.
  • You are a networker who has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide range of individuals to help drive Studio programming, including customers, industry experts, and other professionals.
  • You deliver one-on-one and group learning sessions, guiding customers in using a variety of tools from paintbrushes to Photoshop.
  • You are a thoughtful mentor. You love connecting customers with the information, tools and people resources they need to grow their own expertise.
  • Whether it's batik or biomechanics, you are always working to develop your personal mastery of one or more creative or scientific fields through informal learning, work experience and coursework.
  • You are a genius at time management and multitasking, managing multiple projects with ease.
  • You are flexible, able to identify priorities and shift focus at the drop of a hat.
  • You are a technology wizard who is confident troubleshooting everything from Windows laptops to laser cutting machines.
  • You are an explorer of metrics, constantly evaluating and contributing to daily reflections and tracking statistics.
  • You understand that when the pressure is on, we all work together; you enjoy being part of the team to make it happen - whether that means setting up a dozen stop-motion animation stations or cleaning up after a messy sculpture session.
  • You have great ideas to share on district committees and enjoy taking a leadership role.
  • You do the right thing. Every decision you make and action you take is an opportunity to demonstrate our collective integrity.
  • You are a safe and courteous driver when driving district vehicles to deliver impromptu learning experiences at locations throughout Adams county.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • You have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and strong sense of responsibility, ensuring all safety checks are performed on the vehicle before hitting the road.
  • You have at least one year of work experience (or equivalent education) in the arts, a STEAM discipline, computer technology or museum education.
  • You have a mastery of creative software, hardware and tools related to your area of expertise.
  • You are tech savvy and can easily operate or learn a variety of technical equipment, from desktops and laptops to 3D printers and recording equipment.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, adapt flexibly to changing priorities, and meet deadlines with a high-speed environment.
  • At least one year of experience in developing project-based or skill-building programs for youth and adults is highly desired.
  • You can pass a pre-employment and yearly drug test.
