Job Description

Do you believe that today’s public library should be the bustling third place of its community? That providing top notch customer service is key to keeping patrons walking through our doors? That expanded collections and progressive library leadership are essential for today's evolving public libraries? Then the McMillan Memorial Library might be for you!

We are seeking an empathetic, flexible candidate that possesses relevant practical experience and a solid understanding of public librarianship, strong skills in programming, outreach and services for patrons of all ages, and the ability to lead our customer services team into the future. The Assistant Director oversees the daily operations of the library, heads up our programming and outreach efforts, and supervises our 8.5 FTE customer services staff.

This is a full-time 40 hr/week, exempt position. Rotating evenings and weekends are required. Benefits include paid holidays, sick / vacation leave, participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System, and competitive health insurance benefits. Pay range starts at $75,000 per year. 
Qualifications 

The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in library administration and management. An MLS from an ALA accredited university is required.
