The Forest Park Branch Library is one of the busiest in our beautiful city. The branch is a historic Carnegie library building with a Community Room for programming and performances. Outside you'll find a Reading Garden, our neighborhood partner the Forest Park Middle School, and, at the end of the block, the entrance to a 700+ acre gem of a public park. Branch staff work closely with local schools, agencies welcoming new Americans, and other community groups. See inside here.
The East Forest Park Branch Library was built in 2019 and features a well-equipped Community Room, quiet study rooms, a Makerspace, and expansive Children’s Room and Teen Room. Very popular with afterschool visitors, browsers, and business center users, it is nestled in a residential neighborhood and part of a learning corridor that includes a public school and a high school. The Manager at our East Forest Park and Forest Park branches is responsible for leading the teams of these two libraries. This includes staff hiring and mentoring, public interaction, programming, administrative duties, system-wide initiatives, and community engagement. Work is performed with professional independent administrative judgment in accordance with the policies and objectives of the Library. Supervision is exercised over a team of twelve people, including a supervisor at each location.
