Job Description

Jefferson County Public Library is adding a new position to our Digital Experience Team! The Digital Experience Associate supports the operations of our digital library, which consists of several integrated content management, discovery, and e-content platforms. The DX team plans and publishes content, administers digital systems, assists patrons in the use of web and mobile platforms, collects and analyzes data, and generally applies the methodologies of User Centered Design to a complex environment made up of many integration points.

This is a part-time (20 hours/week) position.

This position has a flex schedule allowing the employee to coordinate a schedule with their leadership team to reasonably accommodate their personal schedule around the business needs.

Description:

We anticipate starting wage offers between $20.00 - $23.86 per hour.

  • Work with the Web Content Coordinator and Digital Librarian to create an exciting and innovative digital experience for patrons across a variety of platforms and services.  Assist patrons, primarily with questions about third-party e-content databases, resources, and library apps.
  • Perform light data entry and statistical reporting to help inform and streamline services. Assist in maintaining technical and process documentation
  • Contribute to daily web content production and long-term projects that support overall operations, including reviewing and editing content in the CMS and catalog, optimizing graphics for the web, auditing content to inform future development and updating public-facing information on various platforms.
  • Support merchandising of library collections by creating and maintaining lists and digital displays.
  • Position must comply with laws governing patron privacy and confidentiality under CRS24-90-119, and the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, as well as ADA governing public access to space and technology.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Required:

  • Strong communication skills, including editing and writing.
  • Visual design sense or experience
  • Ability navigating and exploring new technologies.
  • Problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred fields: Communications, Web Desing, User Experience, Library Science or related field. Applicants with a non-related degree but relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.)

Preferred:

  • Experience with website design or content management (Wordpress or others).
  • Experience with data entry analysis.
  • Experience with design software (Photoshop or others).
  • Experience in User Experience.
