Job Description
Bilio is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team as a Material Librarian or Archivist. This is a full-time, paid position that will provide valuable experience and professional development in the field of library or archival science, with a focus on soft goods materials.
A Bilio Material Librarian or Archivist - Soft Goods - Responsibilities:
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of material collections.
- Assist with the creation of inventories and other descriptive tools.
- Provide reference and research assistance to material culture users.
- Participate in collection development and management activities.
- Assist with outreach and engagement activities to promote material culture services and collections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience
There are no specific requirements for the application, though the following qualifications are preferred:
- Currently enrolled in a library or archival science program or recent graduate with a focus on material culture or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of material culture best practices and standards
- Familiarity with material culture databases and software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in working with diverse material culture collections and communities.
