Job Description

This full-time (37.5 hours/week) job is based at the Central Library. The Central Library is a lovely century-old building with a large Community Room for programming and performances. Our neighborhood includes the Springfield Museums, many apartment blocks, and Downtown Springfield. The Digital Services Librarian manages and maintains the Library's website and its digital collections and oversees its participation in the Funding Information Network. They are part of a ten person team and have shared responsibility for reference services, reader's advisory, tech assistance, collection development of print and non-print materials, programming, outreach, community engagement, and similar duties pertaining to adult services. Work is performed under the direction of the department’s Supervisor and Manager. 

Excellent customer service orientation is needed, and a "turned outward" approach to community engagement is ideal. Bilingual abilities desirable (English and Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Somali, Arabic, Dari, or other community language).
