Job Description

Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) loves involving children and teenagers in our reading programs along with many other activities, making it fun and easy for them to learn. GCPLD is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and versatile Youth Services Coordinator for the Glenwood Springs Branch Library.

This position is responsible for engaging in activities that promote early literacy for children and their caretakers; providing excellent customer service; promoting high-quality library services and resources to all users, children through adult; planning, promoting, and implementing youth services programs, conducting storytime, assisting with the design and implementation of the Summer Reading Program, performing outreach activities and engaging in collection development and maintenance.

Education & Experience:

  • Relevant bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of four (4) years of education and/or experience, and;
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience educating children and/or working with youth development programs or initiatives.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a library.
  • Experience working with teens.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or another language.
Benefits & Additional Compensation Info

The hiring range is $22.00 to $28.08 per hour with placement dependent on actual experience and education. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan match (up to 6%); paid vacation, sick, and holidays.

After six months of employment we offer education assistance and student loan assistance.
