Programing Librarian (Part-Time) Pawtucket Public Library, Pawtucket, RI
The Pawtucket Public Library is seeking to hire a part-time librarian. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing and leading programs for adults, along with promoting library resources and programs through print and social media. The programing librarian also works on the Reference and Teen desks. The applicant should have good communications skills including writing and speaking in public and possess technology skills that they are willing to share with others.
Examples of current programs are Adult LGBTQ+, Spanish and Adult Book Clubs, Adult Summer Reading Program, Writers’ Workshops, Author Talks, and Craft Workshops.
Minimum Requirements: Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited school. Employee must have knowledge of library resources and procedures. Employee must also have knowledge of current technological applications for information access and ability to utilize these resources with a high degree of accuracy and proficiency.
Salary: $31.89-34.52 per hour in three steps
Benefits: Vacation, Holidays and Sick Time
Hours: Tuesday & Thursday 3 pm to 9 pm, alternate Friday/Saturday 9 am to 5 pm.
