DPL is hiring a Supervisor of Administrative Support to supervise library circulation staff at the Ross-University Hills Community Hub location and train circulation staff to be deployed to other locations in the hub’s region. In this leadership position, you will set a high standard of customer service for direct reports and coworkers, welcoming all customers to the library, making connections that extend beyond the transactional, and explaining library policies so customers are able to meet obligations while finding value in their library experience. As a supervisor, you will use an equity-driven approach as you determine work priorities and develop schedules to provide staff coverage; work with direct reports on performance and engagement as a group and individually; develop work-related goals; provide performance feedback in one-on-one settings, as well as yearly performance reviews; coach for improvement; and oversee time cards and leave requests. This position works closely with the branch supervisor to conduct hiring interviews and select high quality candidates that represent a wide array of perspectives and life experiences, report building and technology issues, and serve as person-in-charge in the branch supervisor’s absence. As the point person for Circulation, you will oversee circulation functions by interpreting policies, communicating procedural changes, and using informed judgment appropriately and equitably to resolve issues. You will also serve as the branch’s Change Fund Custodian, acting as a responsible steward of all cash funds and customer payments, and ensuring staff are up to date in training and processes.
