The Middletown Public Library is looking for a 35 hours per week Youth Services Librarian to work in our small library with a new and passionate youth services staff with big ideas. Work with a full time children’s assistant, part time teen assistant, and brand new library director during a very exciting time in MPL history – helping design a brand new library and imagine a youth services department of your dreams!
This job might be for you if:
-Your librarianship is people-centered.
-You have interest and experience developing programs and collections for kids and teens ages 0-18.
-You have interest and knowledge on the current trends of youth-focused technology and applications.
-Your public service is rooted in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community.
Qualifications
This role will be filled by a librarian with an MLS with two years relevant experience working with children and/or teens. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Schedule is 35 hours per week and includes nights and weekends – most likely closing two nights a week and working every other Saturday on rotation, as well as at least one Sunday per month.
Salary is $50k-$55k a year, negotiable depending on qualifications
