
This position provides technology and instructional resources and support for digital media (video, audio, web, etc.) projects, primarily supporting students with faculty-assigned digital media assignments such as videos/documentaries, podcasts, and websites.
Majors Duties Include:
Respond to student, faculty, and staff media support requests and questions, and maintain in-library media technology and spaces Maintain the loanable media equipment collection, inspect and check-in returned loanable media equipment, and resolve technical and loan issues with in-library and loanable media equipment and software in collaboration with other Library and IT staff, as appropriate.
Coordinate and provide classroom digital media instruction, providing in-person or remote instruction on digital media technologies, best practices, and other media literacy topics to support students with faculty-assigned projects such as videos/documentaries, podcasts, and websites. Consult with faculty on digital media assignments. Design and provide tailored digital media instruction sessions and resource materials (handouts, etc.) Seek feedback on sessions and implement improvements as necessary.
Create and publish digital signage for the Library (including signage for other College departments and programs as requested). Create physical signage for the Library and coordinate printing and installation. Create displays to highlight specific resources. Serve as editor for the Library website. Coordinate/support other marketing projects or events, as determined by Library administrators and managers.
Develop campaigns/series around Library resources, services or other themes. Maintain a calendar of global and local events to support content generation. Consult with other Library staff on social media initiatives related to their areas. Respond to Library staff requests to promote resources or services by assisting with image/media creation and copywriting. Engage with (following, liking, sharing, commenting on) similar/related accounts, posts, and hashtags. Research trends in social media to expand the Library’s social media reach and follower engagement. Adhere to and keep informed of College and Library communications and social media policies.
