
Job Overview:
Directs, plans, organizes, coordinates, and implements strategies for the Clearview Library District Friends and Foundation that support the Clearview Library District’s capital projects and strategic initiatives.
Essential Functions:
Relationship Building (30%)
Develop partnerships and relationships in the community that align with the mission and vision of the Clearview Library District and the Friends and Foundation. Build a greater understanding of and support for the Friends and Foundation through communication and marketing.
Fund-raising (25%)
Work with the Board of the Friends and Foundation, the Library Director and the Library Board of Trustees to raise funds for capital projects, grow funding for Clearview reads and to grow an endowment fund.
Event Planning (20%)
Plan large events, such as Clearview reads and smaller events that grow membership in the Friends of the Library and build advocacy in the community.
Grant Writing (15%)
Seek out and write grants that align with strategic initiatives.
Operations (10%)
Manage the daily operations of the organization including report-writing, budgeting, social media posts, donor recognition, correspondence, etc.
Autonomy:
Defines guidelines and results to be achieved. Determines how to accomplish tasks.
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 – 5 years of experience working in two or more of the following areas: strategic planning, non-profit management, grant writing, fundraising, public relations, communication and marketing, and experience working directly with a board of directors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Demonstrated ability to work with business, community, and public leaders and entities.
· Strong communication skills.
· Organizational skills.
· Volunteer management.
· Proven history of meeting or exceeding fund-raising goals.
· Demonstrated successful grant writing and administration.
· Understanding of public library districts
Work Environment:
Position requires being up and moving around the Library and at times stationary at work station. The job requires stooping, bending, squatting, stretching. Occasional lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 25 pounds) may be required. Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (with keyboard, shelving), eye-hand coordination, data entry and computer use for accessing information. Should be conscious of appropriate ergonomics and work station setup.
