DATA AND ANALYTICS COORDINATOR

MEDFORD, OR

FULL-TIME/40 HOURS PER WEEK

$67,0679 TO $84,015 PER YEAR

$32.25 TO $40.39 PER HOUR

THE POSITION

Provides ongoing research and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to measure the effectiveness of current library services and development of future library services by extracting, processing, analyzing, and reporting on a variety of data related to JCLS's mission, strategic goals, and required reporting.


 

This individual works closely with Administration and other departments and groups across the organization to continuously analyze the impact of library services and programming, improve workplace efficiencies, and better tell the library's story through data.


 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of analytical tools and data interpretation techniques.

• Proficiency with data visualization software.

• Ability to analyze and interpret a wide variety of economic, demographic, geographic, ethnographic and social data, and translate into meaningful and actionable recommendations.

• Knowledge of public library resources, programs, and services.

• Data visualization and presentation skills for making appropriate recommendations based on insights.

• Ability to transform statistical data and numbers into understandable information through infographics and mapping.

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

• Ability to work cooperatively and maintain effective interpersonal skills with the public and co-workers.

• Ability to participate in a team atmosphere to achieve department goals and objectives consistent with the Library District's vision and strategies.

• Strong organization and attention to detail.

• Strong project or program management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects across fluctuating deadlines.

• Aptitude for analytical thinking, disciplined problem solving, and data analysis skills

• Ability to be self-driven and able to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete, or unstructured data

• Ability to work independently and to set priorities.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to operate relevant computer systems including hardware and software, such as Microsoft Office, electronic databases and electronic content platforms, email, chat, social media platforms, and internet navigation in addition to other office equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers;

• Verify, reconcile, balance, adjust, and audit accounts;

• Maintain financial and accounting records;

• Prepare accounting statements and reports, including comprehensive accounting reports;

• Review and analyze financial documents for completeness and accuracy;

• Read, comprehend, and analyze financial statements;

• Perform complex financial analysis;

• Apply accounting procedures and principles and perform mathematical calculations and analysis;

• Monitor accounting control systems;

• Demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel and ten-key by touch skills;

• Financial and statistical analysis techniques;

• Grant and/or contract management principles and practices.


 

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional experience with data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, ggplot, matplotlib, etc.), data storytelling, or designing research methodologies emphasizing qualitative and quantitative information.

• Experience with survey and evaluation design, data collection and analysis, demographics

• SQL skills

• Microsoft Excel proficient


 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited school in data analysis, statistics, business intelligence, data/information science or similar. • Could be a combination of experience, certifications and education.

• Knowledge of data sources and resources available in Oregon and Jackson County.

• Experience creating data-driven narratives

• GIS knowledge
