The libraries are seeking a Community Enrichment Coordinator or a Community Enrichment Coordinator Librarian. The difference in these positions is whether or not the successful candidate possesses an MLIS or MLS degree. Please apply based on your current level of education. This position will work under the direction of the Community Enrichment Supervising Coordinator. The purpose of the Community Enrichment program is to provide personal, professional, educational, and social-emotional development services to the people living in Gunnison County and surrounding areas so they can enjoy successfully discovering, engaging, and navigating the world around them while gaining the skill proficiency to meet their goals.
Primary responsibilities for the Community Enrichment Coordinator or Community Enrichment Coordinator Librarian will be providing circulation services, information access services, and enriching events and activities to library users.
Enriching activities range from classes or sessions where specific skills are attained to experiences that simply enrich the daily lives of customers. It is the belief of Gunnison County Library District that learning should be fun, inclusive, and accessible. The successful candidate will not inherit a prescribed vision of how a library should provide enriching opportunities. If selected for an interview a successful candidate will share their ideas for growing the Community Enrichment Program. The primary audience for the events and activities will be adults but may also include families or caregivers and their children.
The successful candidate will be creative, innovative, and passionate about delivering outstanding service to the libraries’ customers.
Some evenings and weekends are required and work will occur in both Gunnison and Crested Butte, Colorado.
