Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Works to provide library services to children and young adults, including reference, readers’ advisory, programming, community activities and collection development. Works with staff to monitor and evaluate services to youth. Promotes and publicizes youth services in the schools and community. Selects print and non-print children’s and young adult materials for the library collection. Manages, designs, and implements several programs including Summer Reading Program, Story Times, family events, coordinated programs with local school district and community agencies. Conducts tours and provides research assistance for school programs and other groups. Provides formal and informal training to patrons in the use of library resources. Accurately answers patrons’ reference questions daily using the resources of the library. Provides information to satisfy patrons’ needs. Attends conferences, meetings, and workshops to keep current with issues and literature. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: • Assignment starting date is mid-October 2009 or as soon as possible. 220 day calendar to include some week night, Saturday and June, July and August scheduling. • All contracts/agreements for employment of personnel shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Education. • No smoking is allowed in any Weld County School District Re 8 buildings. • Selected applicant must comply with the District's Drug-Free Workplace policy. • As required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), the selected applicant must verify, within 72 hours of employment, his/her legal right to be employed in the United States.

We accept up to thirty years of experience. Salary Range of $38,878 - $85,642 (220 day calendar) depending on experience and education with additional opportunities for tuition reimbursement.
