Job Description
Interviews will be scheduled in January 2024.
Teen Specialists provide library service and programming for teens (youth ages 12-18) in collaboration with the Teen Librarian. Recommend teen library books and materials for acquisition/deletion. Assist with marketing of teen programs.
The 40 hour per week position includes a regular work schedule with evening and weekend rotations. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

The hiring pay for this position begins at $23.70. The full-time benefits package includes employer-paid health care coverage, valued at $10,884. Dependent employer-paid coverage is an additional $23,529 value. Our benefits package summary is available on the careers page.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.
Ability to work collaboratively with teens, parents, teachers, community members, volunteers, and organizations
Preferred Work Experience and Skills
Knowledge of trending teen library services and literature
Familiarity with teen developmental needs to provide appropriate resources and services
Ability to translate teen needs and interests into effective library programs
Customer service, computer software, cash handling, and communication skills
Specialist Essential Duties
Greet visitors to the library
Service desk assignments
Plan and conduct book clubs and other teens programs
Select appropriate books and activities
Prepare activities
Book speakers and promote events
Attend programs
Coordinate program volunteers
Visit middle schools for outreach
